GB Bobsleigh star joins What To Do

GB Bobsleigh athlete, Leon Greenwood, surprised us with an exclusive Winter Olympics experience on our What To Do channel.

Calling in virtually from a training camp in Switzerland, Leon delighted guests on our award-winning activities website www.What-To-Do.co.uk, taking time to answer questions and provide inspiration for people supported by the charity.

The former 100m track star, who after a serious injury was told he’d never sprint again, is now back in top-level sport and aiming for the 2026 Olympics. By sharing his personal story of overcoming the odds, Leon encouraged the group to never give up on their dreams, with many in attendance sharing their own stories of resilience.

Leon then joined participants in an accessible exercise class, with movements themed by winter sports such as snowboarding and skiing.

Speaking on the experience, Leon spoke about the fun he had: “It was an absolute pleasure to meet everyone at Community Integrated Care and hear about their work supporting people with learning disabilities with such brilliant initiatives like this.

I’m glad that I could provide some inspiration by sharing my journey, but I also left the session feeling motivated after meeting such amazing people who are supported by the charity, and hearing about their positive work in the community. I look forward to seeing them all again soon!”
