Tenant volunteers his talents to raise money
A tenant at North East-based Community Integrated Care service Somerset Place has put his green-fingered talents to excellent use, raising over £350 for a Newcastle children’s hospice by selling his beautiful hand-made hanging baskets.
Keen gardener Dominic Bezzina, with the help of his support team, grew a variety of flowers and assembled his colourful displays to sell to staff and tenants at local Community Integrated Care services, as well as bringing them along to local events such as Open Days and BBQs. Dominic kindly donated the proceeds of these to the St Oswald’s Children’s Hospice in Gosforth.
Phil Martin, Team Leader at Somerset Place, says: “Dominic has not only worked hard to help raise funds for a charity that is close to his heart, he has also encouraged everyone around him to do the same.”
“From hanging baskets to sponsors works, and even volunteering his support team to take part in a charity bike ride, he has dedicated himself to giving something back to his local community. The whole team are so proud of his achievements.”
