Trustee Keith Rhodes Visits Scottish Services
Earlier this week, colleagues and people we support in Forth Valley were thrilled to receive a visit from Community Integrated Care Trustee, Keith Rhodes.
Our charity’s Chief Corporate Services and People Officer, Teresa Exelby, and Chief Quality and Risk Officer, Jemima Burnage, also joined the visit as special guests – led by Managing Director for Scotland, Sara Murphy.
Kicking off the day, Keith, Teresa and Jemima were delighted to visit colleagues and people supported at our Brook Street supported living service in Alva. Touring the service and exchanging introductions, our colleagues were pleased to tell the trio about systems they use within the service, offering an in-depth walkthrough and bringing the work they do to life.
Meanwhile, people supported enjoyed meeting their special visitors – sharing their experiences and showing them around their homes. Kandy and Liam, two of the people we support, were even pleased to tell the three visitors about their new relationship.
After a delicious lunch together, Keith, Teresa and Jemima took a short drive to Tullibody, where they were welcomed by colleagues at Baingle Brae – another supported living service empowering people to live their best lives possible.
Topics of conversation included ‘Learn to LEAD’ – Community Integrated Care’s innovative career development programme for frontline support workers – as well as the exciting news that both Baingle Brae and Brook Street were recently rated ‘Excellent’ by the Care Inspectorate.
Service Leader, Carrie-Anne Scott, was delighted to be part of both visits. She said of the day: “It was fantastic to welcome our Trustee, Keith Rhodes, alongside Teresa, our Chief Corporate Services and People Officer, and Jemima, our Chief Quality and Risk Officer, to two of our services on Tuesday. With both Brook Street and Baingle Brae rated Excellent, this was the perfect opportunity to show our visitors the impact of our amazing colleagues. I am so proud of the teams at both services.”
“We all had such an incredible afternoon giving Keith, Teresa and Jemima an insight into the life-changing support our colleagues provide each day. The atmosphere was relaxed and we really enjoyed the time together. We’d welcome Keith, Teresa and Jemima back anytime – a big thank you to them for visiting!”
We’d like to thank the people we support at Brook Street and Baingle Brae, who opened their homes and offered such a warm welcome.
