We Celebrate National Inclusion Week

As a charity, Community Integrated Care is built on the foundations of inclusion and community. So, last week, we were proud to mark National Inclusion Week, celebrating some of our incredible initiatives, promoting diversity and inclusion within our charity and beyond.

National Inclusion Week 2024At the beginning of the week, we were delighted to announce that Community Integrated Care has introduced a new Retirement Policy and signed the Age-Friendly Employer Pledge – reflecting our commitment to creating an inclusive work environment for colleagues of all ages. You can read more about the new policy and what signing the pledge means for our organisation, here.

Then, on Wednesday, we were thrilled to relaunch Care to Cook, our fantastic project empowering people who have learning disabilities to take charge in the kitchen and make delicious, budget-friendly meals. As part of this, we hosted an incredible relaunch event on What-To-Do.co.uk, our charity’s accessible, online activities platform, and announced an exclusive cookalong class with celebrity chef, Rosemary Shrager! Catch the event live on What-To-Do.co.uk at 2pm on Friday 11th October. We’ll be learning from the best of the best and making a scrumptious chicken risotto, so stay tuned – the ingredients list will become available on the What To Do website soon.

Continuing the celebrations, we were also pleased to share that Community Integrated Care’s Voice Groups will return from the week commencing 14th October. Our Voice Groups enable people supported by our charity to come together, discuss the matters that are most important to them, and share feedback on the care and support our charity provides. Linda, a lady we support in the northwest, is a staunch advocate for the groups. Take a look at Linda’s video, below, where she tells you her inspiring story:

If you are supported by Community Integrated Care, or you have a loved one who is, you can click here to access the Voice Groups registration page.

Finally, we were pleased to celebrate the achievements of our Colleague Inclusion Networks during this important week. From co-creating new policies to hosting exclusive webinars with subject-matter experts, our Colleague Inclusion Networks have made a huge impact across our charity over the past year:

Thank you to all our Network members and everybody who contributed to our National Inclusion Week celebrations this year. You can read more about Community Integrated Care’s diversity and inclusion plans here.
