We present at Sports4All Summit at Paralympics

Representatives from Community Integrated Care’s Partnerships and Communities Team joined sport leaders from across Europe on Thursday 5th September, for the international Sports4All Innovation Summit at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

Hosted by SportInnovator, the sports innovation network for the Netherlands, the event explored how sports and physical activity can be made more inclusive and accessible for everyone in society. The summit brought together key decision-makers, innovators and experts to collaborate and showcase the best in European sport innovations, with our Inclusive Volunteering Programme®️ being hailed as amongst the top twenty sports innovations throughout Europe.

Invited by Sport England to showcase best practice in sports inclusion, our Director of Partnerships and Communities, John Hughes, and our Partnerships Development Manager, Briony Davies, represented our charity at the event, presenting alongside speakers from Sport England, the EU and the World Health Organisation.

Following a welcome reception at the Dutch Ambassador’s residency, John and Briony presented to European sports leaders in attendance, speaking about our charity’s sporting partnerships, and how we’re creating inclusive opportunities at major sports events and championing inclusion on a global scale.

John said, “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Sport England and SportInnovator for their support of our charity and for giving us this platform to raise awareness of our work. It was a real honour for us to showcase how we’re empowering health, independence, skills and joy in social care through sports, and to celebrate the impact of our partnership with Sport England.”

“Being part of the summit has really given us so many new ideas, perspectives and opportunities to explore for our charity – it was one of the most amazing and inspiring experiences in my career. We were also lucky enough to catch some of the Paralympics whilst we were there, which really brought home the power of sports and creating events that inspire communities. We can’t wait to explore all we’ve learnt and put this into practice within our initiatives and partnerships going forward, so that we can continue to drive real change in our communities.”
