We support DHSC #MadeWithCare Campaign

Community Integrated Care is proud to have supported the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) in their #MadeWithCare recruitment campaign, showcasing the wide range of exciting and fulfilling opportunities available within social care.

Throughout March and April, our colleagues – Sammie Mayhead, Service Leader in Portsmouth, and Aimee Murray, Support Worker in Leicester – worked alongside the DHSC as Ambassadors for the campaign. From creating social media videos to taking part in regional radio interviews, they’ve shared what makes their careers in adult social care so special.

Speaking to reporter, Julian Fisher, Aimee said, “When I started working in social care, I felt a real sense of fulfillment and joy and knew it was a career I wanted to pursue long-term. I love that every day is different. I think what people don’t realise is how exciting and enjoyable the role is. For example, I love films and so does a person I support so we often go to the cinema. It’s so unique to have a job where you’re doing fun things that you enjoy everyday!”

Sammie added, “I love that fact that I spend my day enabling people to live the best life possible. You get to meet so many different people – all with their own unique stories and experiences – who you build personal connections with. It isn’t just about supporting people with everyday needs but also empowering people to live fulfilling lives and take part in exciting experiences.”

Olivea Allegrini-Jones, Head of Resourcing at Community Integrated Care, said, “This is such a fantastic opportunity for Sammie and Aimee and we are so proud of them for being such brilliant advocates for our charity and the social care sector.”

“Like many other providers, we are feeling the impact of the current recruitment challenges first-hand. With the sector facing around 165,000 vacancies on any given day, it’s frustrating and disheartening to see, as we know the joy that working in care can bring to so many.”

“It’s crucial that, as organisations, we come together to support initiatives such as the Department for Health and Social Care’s #MadeWithCare campaign, that drive our collective recruitment efforts and showcase just how incredible and fulfilling a career in adult social care can be.”
