We win Care Innovator at London Awards
Community Integrated Care is proud to have been awarded the prestigious Care Innovator accolade at the Great British Care Awards London on Saturday 16th November.
The ‘Care Innovator’ title is in recognition of our partnership work with technology experts, Okta, celebrating our achievements in creating programmes that inspire and improve digital safety, digital independence and digital inclusion across social care.
At the heart of the nomination is our Big Adventure project. Building on previous training delivered to frontline colleagues on the best ways to utilise internet search engines, to ensure impactful community mapping and better opportunities for the people we support, the Big Adventure further explores ways to get people we support connected and build on their digital skills, promoting digital inclusion across our organisation.
John Hughes, our Director of Partnerships and Communities, said: “We’re incredibly proud that our work with Okta has been awarded the Care Innovator accolade at the Great British Care Awards in London. In today’s world, navigating the online world confidently and safely is essential. It supports people with developing their independence and enables people to connect with others, learn new things, and find opportunities in their communities. Yet, people with disabilities often face significant barriers to accessing technology and the benefits of digital inclusion. Through a number of innovative projects and initiatives, including the Big Adventure, we’ve worked with the team at Okta to tackle these challenges head-on, equipping our teams with the tools and resources to help people overcome digital exclusion.”
He added: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Okta for their invaluable support. Their partnership has been instrumental in promoting digital inclusion and providing life-changing access to technology. Together, we’ve made a lasting impact, empowering people to build independence and lead fuller, more connected lives.”
At the event, we had another four fantastic finalists:
- Putting People First – Magna Road
- Home Care Team – Tanners
- Frontline Leader – Jordan Conroy, Service Leader
- Workforce Development – Rebecca Austin, Support Worker
The awards ceremony forms part of the Great British Care Award’s regional events, celebrating excellence across the sector. The ceremonies continue to take place throughout this month across other regions, with Community Integrated Care celebrating 22 Great British Care Awards.
Winners from the regional events will go through to a National Finals taking place in March next year.
