We’re marking Black History Month
As October begins, Community Integrated Care is proud to be marking Black History Month.
This year’s theme ‘Reclaiming Narratives’ is an invitation to Black communities to take part in shaping how their stories are told. Throughout October, we will be sharing ways our colleagues and the people we support can get involved with the celebrations whilst recognising the importance of the month.
We’ve compiled a selection of books, podcasts, and activities, including an arts project inspired by Black artists and an easy-read, for our colleagues to share with the people they support. These resources are designed to engage the people we support, providing them with the opportunity to celebrate and learn more about Black History Month.
We’ll also be inviting our colleagues to share their stories, experiences and what Black History Month means to them to encourage meaningful conversations across our charity.
Along with these celebrations, we look forward to continuing our work with our Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Network, to make our charity a space that is inclusive, fair and equal to all. You can find out more about our colleague inclusion networks here.
