We’re Shortlisted for 3 Prestigious Awards
Community Integrated Care is proud to be shortlisted for three prestigious accolades at the Great British Care Awards national finals, taking place later this week.
Celebrating our organisation’s dedication to delivering exceptional care, strong leadership, and commitment to learning and innovation, Community Integrated Care has been named among the finalists for the coveted Care Employer Award.
Incredibly, four of our charity’s partnership projects have also made the shortlist for the Care Innovator Award, following their success at regional awards ceremonies across the country last year. This includes:
- Our Learning Disability Super League, offering people with care and support needs the opportunity to play in front of thousands, representing their favourite Rugby League clubs
- Our Taking Charge campaign, offering accessible tips and tricks to support social care workers and people supported to save hundreds on their energy bills
- ‘Save our Wild Isles’, a project inspired by David Attenborough’s documentary series of the same name, inspiring people with care and support needs to enjoy all the benefits of the natural world
- The Big Adventure, an initiative which saw Support Workers and people we support hone their digital skills and leverage the power of a simple internet search to discover life-changing experiences
Also among the group of shortlisted projects is another of Community Integrated Care’s collaborations with Rugby League – ‘On The Same Team’. Nominated for the Co-production Award, this programme supports schools to tackle bullying and discrimination with inspirational lesson and homework plans, featuring some of Rugby League’s biggest stars.
On this exciting news, Community Integrated Care’s Director of Partnerships and Communities, John Hughes, shared, “Last year, we were delighted to see so much success across the regional awards ceremonies, and we are over the moon to now have a second chance to celebrate our incredible charity and projects at the national finals of the Great British Care Awards.”
“Through the projects shortlisted, we have achieved so many outstanding outcomes for people we support, our local communities, and wider society – whether it be supporting care workers with the cost-of-living crisis or creating beautiful sensory gardens for people we support to enjoy for years to come. I’d like to say a big thank you to our partners in this work – Rugby Football League, RSPB, National Trust, WWF, and the National Care Forum.”
“We’re also proud to be nominated for Care Employer, which pays testament to the unending passion and dedication of our colleagues in delivering the best lives possible.”
Winners for all awards will be announced at an awards ceremony on Friday 14th March, at the ICC in Birmingham.
